is a small specialty jewelry gallery located on North Main Street at Two Capital Plaza in the heart of Concord’s Historic Downtown 1 & 1/2 blocks south of the State House.

At Mark Knipe Goldsmiths you will find fine jewelry by recognized designer jewelers as well as the classics and custom work by in-house designers. We do, in fact, make jewelry and complete repairs on the premises. The jewelry collections include bridal as well as jewelry for all occasions. Blown glass by Zweifel is also featured in the gallery. The gallery is small, the selection is varied and the possibilities are endless.


Mark Knipe is the owner, designer and technical director of Mark Knipe Goldsmiths, LLC.  Since 1970 Mark has practiced the art and skill of creating custom jewelry. He is a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen and was elected a “Distinguished Member” to the Society of North American Goldsmiths. He continued his study of the world of gemstones through the Gemological Institute of American (GIA) and the American Gem Society (AGS). He is an AGS Certified Gemologist.

Goldsmith & Designer

Eric Janelle has been with Mark Knipe Goldsmiths since 2001. He is a Jewelers of America “Certified Bench Jeweler Technician” and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts. Eric designs and fabricates custom jewelry for clients as well as one-of-a-kind pieces for the gallery. By making superb wax carvings he helps others clarify their ideas, and then transforms them into reality.

Designer & Gemologist

Sarah Huggins has been with Mark Knipe Goldsmiths since 2005. She has received her Certified Gemologists designation through the American Gem Society. Sarah enjoys working with clients and turning their  ideas into beautiful pieces of custom jewelry.  She is fluent in the use of the Matrix Gemvision CAD system used for creating three-dimensional jewelry designs.

Gallery Manager

Paula Heath graduated from Parson’s School of Design in NYC and comes to us in 2008 after many years in the fashion industry designing day and evening dresses. She is a Certified Sales Associate through the American Gem Society, making her extremely capable of helping customers select jewelry to enhance their style or wardrobe. She enjoys introducing our designer collections and jewelry produced here. Her artistic windows and jewelry display case designs provide enjoyment to passers-by and a beautiful environment for clients.

Gemologist Appraiser

Gail Joy Nelson, an independent Gemologist Appraiser, provides to our clients appraisals of fine jewelry. Appraisals can be done for insurance, estate, and division of property, damage and loss, charitable donation or liquidation purposes. Appraisals are done on a monthly bases in our gallery, by appointment. Gail is a 1988 Graduate Gemologist of the resident program of the Gemological Institute of America, Santa Monica, California. She is an Associate Member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) through which her education is ongoing.

What we do here?

At MKG our jewelry can be one-of-a-kind, limited edition or small production. We can cast and fabricate in sterling silver and in many colors of karat gold and also work in platinum. We can prepare designs for per owned gemstones, hand carve wax models, or create 3D computer aided designs of jewelry. Also on premises we restring pearls and other beads, reset gems, and repair damaged jewelry. With our laser welder we are able to repair delicate jewelry, glasses frames, and work around heat sensitive stones.
